Everyday we encounter the complex faces of sense and nonsense in the city streets that surround us.

"TIME death row"
The idea of the image series "time death row" came during a taxi ride in New York City, near the World Trade Center in April 2001.

In this way, 'TIME death row' maintains the essence of several other of udo reins artworks in that it begins with the premise of a taxi ride. The pop-artist is fascinated by the talks with the cab drivers and their insights, as well as by the impressions in and around the taxi.

The dialogue between the driver and artist acts as a catalyst of inspiration for udo that contributes to the meaning that is unveiled through the images that are then taken from the viewpoint of the passenger seat.

With the flick of the taxi meter, the project begins. Simple surroundings are moulded into abstract ideas as they are formatted by the photographer. Understanding is achieved by the viewer through their own perspective and the personal connections that they make with the images.

Udo Rein: "Those inspirations are like the cab-driver's fingerprints. And just like others fingerprints, they leave tracks behind."
